Art Mentoring Details

The fine-tuning of all individual mentoring relationships, I undertake to sort out on the phone with the client so that I can be of maximum use to enable you to move forward in your art practice with confidence, no matter what stage of development you are at. However, here is the basic picture of what I undertake with all my mentees.

TELEPHONE MENTORING ...

1. The client calls me on the phone at a pre-arranged time/date that is convenient to us both, approximately twice a month (this depends on client's wishes).

2. I charge per session on the telephone, which is usually half an hour to 45 mins.

3. Part of the session fee also covers the session notes which I will e-mail you after our telephone time. These notes are to add to the notes you'll take down yourself while we are talking on the telephone and often include annotations on visual material you have produced yourself and e-mailed to me prior to the telephone call.

4. It is VITAL that you e-mail me photos of your latest artwork that you require help/comment on PRIOR to each phone session . Therefore, access to a computer and a digital camera will aid your mentoring experience. I am willing to do this side of the communication by regular post, of course, but it delays the communication and the impact on your artistic process.

5. Session Fees :- £40 (GBP) per session (includes e-mail feedback/notes).

6. The total number of sessions needed by each individual varies and can be discussed at various intervals between myself and mentee. Sometimes I find the client wants long term support - helping them find their direction and voice. Sometimes a client simply wants “launching” as a complete beginner.

7. What I CAN offer is encouragement and skill-direction. What I CANNOT help you with is YOUR COMMITMENT TO GROWTH. In other words, with your hard work and my direction and advice... mini mountains can be climbed! Your 100% commitment is required!

8. I can help you tackle objective drawing, both of the figure, landscape and still-life. I can also show you how to transfer these perceptive skills in to expressive/imaginative outcomes. Equally well, if you simply want to help with drawing OR just the imaginative stuff then that's fine too, I can help you. Perhaps you don't yet know your direction and you need a starting point?

Payment is always in advance of sessions.
X2 sessions payable in advance , total = £80 (GBP).
Cheques payable to : Kate Green

STUDIO VISITS ...

If a client is living in the Bolton, Lancashire area I can undertake visits to client's studio space. These visits are charged at a flat rate of £60 (GBP) - this includes approximately 1.5 hours in the studio space discussing all work that client wishes to show me, plus any career advice and travel. No follow up notes provided by me, artist expected to make notes themselves where appropriate.

All payments to be made in advance.
Cheques payable to Kate Green.

If you wish to, I am quite happy, where appropriate, for clients to mix both Telephone Mentoring and Studio Visits.

Clients living outside the Bolton area are welcome to contact me re: negotiating studio visits, where travel and accommodation expenses will need to be taken in to account.
